Hyundai is allegedly recalling some 2021 Hyundai Venue Units due to exploding seatbelt parts during a car crash, which could injure people.

Make sure to check your 2021 Venue and ask for a rental if the repairs take longer than necessary.

From Car Buzz:
"Thankfully the recall is smaller in scale than the previous two, and only affects 978 cars, including the 2021 Hyundai Elantra, Elantra HEV, Venue, and Genesis GV80 vehicles. The 2022 Genesis GV70 is also affected. According to the manufacturer, the front driver-side and passenger-side seat belt pretensioners could explode during a crash. Hyundai said that the cars affected had pretensioners fitted with "pyrotechnic-type pretensioners" that could explode in the case of a serious accident, which in turn could cause more damage, and in extreme cases, even death due to metal fragments being scattered throughout the cabin, almost like a hand grenade."

Alright Guys!
All the Venues made it in the seatbelt recall list!
Don't know when the official recall process will begin from Hyundai.

The recall appears on the Hyundai Canada website for my VIN. Have to wait for notification by mail from Hyundai.

Request a rental! :devilish:
I wonder how long it would take.

I think they will put a metal cover over the pretensioner (#1 in the pic) to contain the explosion inside the pillar. Tthe trim will need to be removed, pretensioner bolts loosened or removed, cover installed, bolts tightened, trim replaced. Rinse and repeat on the other side.

I just stumbled upon the previous recall to replace the pretensioners, the steps and time should be nearly the same. Looks like they are allotting 0.6 man hours. I can't imagine anyone completing both sides in that time.

I got an email from CARFAX on July 1, telling me that my 2020 Venue SE had the seatbelt recall.

Haven't even thought about taking it in yet. I prefer to live on the edge. Never tell me the odds!!

Damn straight! I survived the sixties, riding in my parents' car without a baby seat, riding my bike without a helmet, drinking water out of the garden hose, and eating raw chocolate chip cookie dough! I'm still here to tell the tale.

Thanks. Very useful post. I checked my car at KBB and there’s no recall on my car. Phew!
The Venue has Pyrotechnics as part of standard equipment.!!!! Wow!!! Just checked my VIN for recall and Yes, eventually I'll have to take it for the Special Shield to be installed. Hopefully such shield will be made of Vibranium-metal alloy 😂

Is this an issue only for US market Venues, or for every Venue that is out there. Also does anyone know a way to check for EU market vehicles by EU VIN
Not sure the same parts are used in other regions. Depends on the standards I suppose. Did you try entering your VIN in the USA or Canada recall sites. Could be that the info is being pulled from a global database.
Found this link, not sure if it's helpful.

Yeah I tried the site, says VIN not valid. Also I tried this site which you've suggested and it kinda only suggest an email template to send do your dealer asking for recalls. Most likely there is not only one EU vin database for Hyundai :(
I haven't received a letter from Hyundai yet but the recall status has changed, doesn't show interim anymore.

Let us know what happens when/if you take it in for the recall.
I called the dealer today, said parts not available yet, wait for letter.
I called my local dealer today and made an appointment for oil change, etc., and the recall service. I asked if after I get there, they are going to have to order parts. They said no, they have the parts. I'm skeptical, but we'll see........
