2020 Hyundai Venue SEL

I have a 2020 Hyundai Venue SEL. Recently, the car slowed to a stop in the middle of the highway, even when the gas is pressed. After getting the car off the highway, the car couldn't drive above 25-30mph and made a growling hum(?) when it turned. The dealership said that they couldn't find anything wrong and reset the transmission, but the car still had the same problem, and it couldn't drive uphill. Any ideas on what the issue may be?

I sent this post on your other post with this trouble and it's good you opened this post for help and this way more will see it...here's what I posted....
when you said it made a growling hum when it turned...are you saying when the engine turned or when you made a turn?...many years ago my EX.'s car wouldn't go much more then around 30mph and the problem was that the timing belt slipped a cog or two and that through the timing off so no power...I'd think the dealership would have checked all that and did they try driving up a hill...sounds like you may need to go to another dealership.
Hope others here will have some good advice for you.

I'm no expert, but that sure sounds like a failed IVT transmission. Hyundai/Kia had a lot of failed transmission in 2020/21, but the software fix they deployed in mid-2021 seems to have solved things (according to a Kia technician who posts on the Soul forums). Since you have a 2020, it seems safe to assume that is what you are experiencing, and the symptoms seem to match what other people went through.

What I can't fathom is how the dealership could claim that there was nothing wrong! Make sure you press them on this and point out that you know a lot of other Hyundai/Kia IVTs from the 2019-21 model years failed. They should replace it under warranty, and the new one should hopefully not give you any more trouble.

going by your posting name I suspect you are a girl/lady and I'm wondering if where you took it that they are doing the old crap of not dealing with it because you are a girl...that kind of crap I thought wasn't going on anymore, but it's obvious there is something wrong...don't let them bullshit you...sounds like the previous poster is probably right about your problem.

I'm talking it to the dealer service and having the car checked again. I'll ask them to drive a long distance, and hopefully it'll work out. I'll try what you said and press the issue, if that doesn't work, I'll get it replaced under warranty.
