The Accent is no longer being made. I googled it when I didn't notice any '23 Accents being marketed on the Hyundai website, and an auto news blog said the Venue has replaced it.

Makes sense, as the Venue is only like $1,500 more. So that will save Hyundai on production costs. And the Venue holds more cargo and is more practical, sits up a little higher for bad weather, so on.

I wonder if Kia will get rid of the Rio sedan/hatch? Probably not, because the Soul's styling may turn off a lot of buyers. And the Soul is larger by a wider margin than the Rio, as is the Venue compared to Accent.

When I first got my Venue in early '21, I hardly saw any. Now I see maybe one a day, sometimes 2.

Many auto manufacturers are scaling back on their sedans and coupes, and beefing up their "crossover" offerings. Pretty soon, I imagine they will be the standard design, and we'll just call them "cars" again as they will be the new default style.

I totally agree, when I first got my Venue in late 2019, they were rarer than hen's teeth. Now I see several every day, and there are three that live on my block.

It seems like I was seeing more of them on the road in the months before mine was delivered - mostly tuxedos or all white. I saw the apple green in the summer- still dissapointed that colour was no longer available in Canada. I keep expecting someone to approach me in a parking lot to ask or comment on mine. Maybe when it warms up a bit and I wash it.

That sucks you couldn't get Green Apple in Canada. It's still available on the '23 Venues here in the states. But you got a great color. Really there are no bad colors; they're all nice. I wanted the Scarlet Red, but my GF wanted the Intense Blue so I gave in to her, as I was really kinda agnostic about the colors. The white, silver, black, gray all look good too.

I also love the Green Apple. It is basically the same as the '72 Plymouth Satellite wagon my family had from 1972 until 1985. That was called "Sherwood Forest Green" though.

I only have had like 2 people ask about my Venue. A guy in a 10 year old Kia Soul was interested in the Venue and asked me how I liked it. He said he was about to give the Soul to his niece and buy a new Venue.

Yeah, I ran across an article the other day that talked about many of the car manufacturers doing away with their econo-box models. Hyundai Accent, Chevy Spark, Honda Fit were mentioned. I suspect since all models have to have the same mandated safety junk, it makes no sense to offer a low-profit economy model vehicle, especially when people are wanting mini-SUV like vehicles.

Shucks, would much prefer green. Probably just going to go silver with mine.
