Siri, Waze and google maps voice commands stopped working. I Googled and tried all kinds of suggested settings adjustments. The radio would mute as if the app voice was speaking but no sound from the car speakers. Speaker icons on the media screen were not showing as mute. I was about to delete apple car play and reinstall when I found a YouTube video. Summary of the loong video below - you need to adjust the volume on your radio knob (or on the steering wheel I suppose) while the app is speaking, which you can’t hear because the volume is at 0 so... when you start Google maps and press GO turn up the volume or, while driving, when the radio volume decreases as you approach an intersection, turn up the volume.
