Confused by the 8-inch color touchscreen with navigation on my Venue

I have a 2021 Hyundai Venue SEL with the Premium package. I am completely confused as to why I can’t seem to change the Home Screen on my touchscreen. This is what I get when I start the car.

I want it to show the radio and navigation side by side on the touchscreen, but nothing I’ve tried works. I’d appreciate any help. Thanks.

Try the "Setup" button maybe? Not sure, I have a different year and different trim level.
Woah, must be the new update they going to release, cause my 2020 sel premium doesn’t look like that when I startup.
This is what the radio looks like, straight out of Flash Gordon!

It seems that anyone who got the built in nav, has an update coming.
I mean "premium" package with no wireless apple carplay?
Hopefully an update will be in the near future to address some of these issues.
The only help I can provide you John is if you plugin your phone when you get in the car, it will recognize carplay and take you to that screen without input. That way you can have split screen between apple maps (which is my preference) and your music. Combined with the apple music service @ $9.99 a month, you have ultimate jukebox at your disposal.
I actually dig the radio screen with the old school tubes. Very cool imo.

I do have Apple CarPlay and I use it almost always. The thing that burns me up is why have factory navigation in the premium package when you already have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto . Hyundai could’ve put the Bose stereo and a power driver’s seat with lumbar support instead of the useless factory navigation. Someone at Hyundai is making terrible decisions. My ‘18 Kona had a nice touchscreen showing navigation and music side by side. What happened?

I use CarlinKit 2.0 to get Apple CarPlay. You can find it at Amazon. Here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...9&pd_rd_w=yLZP2&pd_rd_wg=bujDz&ref_=pd_gw_unk

I connect it to the USB port in my car. It’s very easy to pair.

So I dont have to install anything on the car just plug this on the USB and maybe an app on the phone and pair ?
I don't know if it's my phone (kinda a cheap Nokia $220 smart phone with Consumer Cellular) or the Android Auto in the infotainment system, but sometimes it works, sometimes not as far as the Android Auto. Though if I start Google Maps on my phone, the navigation commands come over the speaker, so that's enough.

I mainly use a standalone Garmin GPS if I really need to get somewhere. It is only like 2 years old, and I can update it via their website. I think I paid $45 for it on eBay. Never have to worry about my smartphone losing a signal, as the Garmin always has a GPS signal. Garmin or Tomtom are the best.

Just plug it in the USB port and pair it to your iPhone via Bluetooth. It takes a few seconds to recognize it but it works great.

I hope you're right about the wireless update for systems with built-in navigation. It just seems clunky to use a USB to connect the premium system. Of course I might feel differently if Android Auto didn't constantly disconnect.

Still waiting man. I have got everything running Bluetooth now, but would still like to see that update. Until then get one of these short cords to plug in when needed.

My car is about due for its annual oil change. Does anyone have experience with asking the dealer to update their firmware while they are in for maintenance?

They updated is kinda simple, just remove the SD card from the console then download the app from Hyundai and put your software number and it will download and copy to your SD card, after that you insert the card in the car and it should pop to hit ok to update. My service dealer say he won't do that lol

my car won't detect the updated SD card, not even a usb drive.

SD card? My Venue doesn't have any SD slots, just a USB slot. And where do you go to "download the app from Hyundai"? I've never seen it on the Hyundai website.

Here's the site...you can select your region at the top. Updates for both Nav and entertainment systems can be found here. One has to make sure to select the right update to install.

Thanks! But I could only find navigation system updates there. As I don't have navigation on my SE, I don't suppose it has anything I can use. But that's fine; I'm happy with my Android Auto. Well, reasonably happy that is. It's still pretty wonky.
