I found this (rather it found me) on facebook and got an idea. It is listed as a rear badge replacement, so what if we wired it to the trunk switch?
It only goes hot when the fob is in proximity, so in theory it would be the first thing to light up as you approach the car.
I ordered one to give this a try. Hope it works out, should look sweet!

Very cool!! But.....

It says you wire it to the license plate light. But the license plate on a Venue is on the bumper, not on the liftgate with the logo. Will it still work?
It’s just a 2 wire 12V on the badge, so I hope tapping into the trunk switch will work. I would imagine it says hot until you leave the area with the fob, doors locked. If you walked away from the car unlocked, it should stay on telling you the car is unlocked, so it could have a practical use as well.
Ralph is the wiring guy, I would love to hear his opinion.

I wouldn't trust that fool Ralph! He will burn down your car if you listen to him! 🤬

I am guessing the proximity sensors will always be on while the car is off, because it tries to scan for the proximity key all the time.
And there will be a relay switch from the proximity sensors connected to the rear trunk switch to wake the rear trunk switch up when the key is near.

If that is true, you can just piggy back off that relay switch and your cool LED Emblem would work.
However, we don't know which one is the relay switch. You might find 2 wires back there, or you might find 4 wires (I dunno).

Also, I don't know how the proximity sensors behave. What if you are driving, will it stay powered? Do the sensors work only if the car is off? and etc.

Let me know how hard it is to remove the hatch trim pieces, and the fitment of the led emblem. I might do it, too.

So going through the paces,
Approach car with fob...switch hot
Start car...hot
Put in gear, autolock kicks in and...not hot
But...
If you manual unlock once you have it in gear...hot again 😘
If I could disable autolock the switch would stay hot, but sadly I have found no way of doing this yet.
The juice is still worth the squeeze imo. If you want the badge to stay lite while driving, simply manual unlock from inside once in gear. A very small price to pay for this level of cool.
Ralph, I got a stereo guy that will make that back panel his £#€¥£, no worries there my friend. I will shoot some pics when I get the goods.

So I got this today. Not as advertised by a long shot, but that’s Facebook for ya.lol
I will get a shot of it tonight in the dark. It’s definitely a maybe at this point. Fit is a little smaller than the trunk badge, but workable.
I’m more worried about moisture at this point.

Thinking about attaching purple lights on the interior hatch like the picture below.

I am not sure if I should tap the Wiper, Hatch Switch, or Trunk Lights.
The trunk lights might be the best bet, but the wiring will be so long and awkward :ROFLMAO:

Maybe if you ran the lights to the bottom edge of the trunk, or connect two separate set of lights on the inner trunk sides and tucking the connector would be clean and seamless

Yo, Mochizzle and Mayosizzle.

I discovered this website yesterday, which sells LED emblems.
Dynamic Hyundai Emblem Light -Light up with Animation (floatingcentercaps.com)

There are two size:169.7*83.2mm(6.68*3.28”)/194.9*96.5mm(7.67*3.80”)
Our front emblem is about ±200 mm by ±100 mm.

The emblem costs $119. (Not sure if there are hidden fees yet)
But it has a nice little light show when turned on and looks very high quality.
Check it out.

I'll buy it if you buy it :devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish::devilish:

I'll take one for the team. :devilish:

The website says 100% satisfaction guarantee, or the company will issue a refund.
If they don't honor that, I can use my bank policy to force a refund for any online purchases.
I've done it before. lol

Yo, I am trying to do this, too. The emblem will always be on when I turn on the night lights.
Is there a stock hole on the rear emblem sloth?
Does it go through the hatch, or will I have to drill even more for the wire to go through?
