First problem with the Venue

My wife came home tonight and said the screen was black for her 10 minute drive home. When she put it in reverse the rear camera would not work. I removed the key and the screen started working again but when I put it in reverse it would work but when I put it in Drive the rear camera would not turn off until I pushed the Radio Button.

I now remember when I test drove another Venue it would do this about half the time. I looked into the rear camera settings and didn't find anything. I also question why the screen went totally black at first. If it did it once you know it will do it again. Any ideas? Thanks!

Well I just found out that the rear view camera will turn off once you are going 6mph forward. Both my wife and I said we never noticed that before in the almost 4 weeks of owning the Venue. Also I thought for sure you could change a setting that would disable this feature but I can't find one. Also did some searching on this forum and the screen going dark is a problem with a few Hyundai models.
I could've sworn I saw settings in the UI to keep the rearview camera on all the time or turn it off. Unless an OTA update changed it? I keep mine off while driving -- only on while backing.

And yes I have the intermittent blank screen. I keep forgetting to tell the dealer at oil changes since it only happens like 1/500th of driving time.

Sorry you are having problems with the infotainment unit. Should report it to the dealer.
There is a setting for the rear view camera. You may have changed it inadvertently

Many Thanks. Will check it out when the wife gets home. I hope the black screen is not going to be a problem.
I have had this since an update early 2022. I just stop, put it into Park, and then after 3 seconds into Drive and it works as it should. I couldn't be bothered with the dealer as it "never happens to them".

Go to "SET UP-DISPLAY-EXTEND REAR VIEW CAMERA" and uncheck it. The only thing I don't know is how that got checked in the first place.

Thx. The update in Australia has a similar option, but unchecking does not make the problem go away, unfortunately. Still it happens once a month. I can live with that.
