Picking up a new 2020 Venue on Wednesday. This will be our second Hyundai. Trading in a 2008 Elantra which we have really enjoyed. Hyundai makes a great car and backs it up with the best warranty in the business. Looking forward to many more satisfied years in a car with a manual transmission!! If you ain't shifting you ain't drivin'.

Welcome aboard! And congrats to a fellow manual transmission fan! Good thing you bought it this year. Hyundai is discontinuing the stick for the 2021 model year. If my car gets totaled, I'll have to replace it with a Kia Soul to keep the three-pedal functionality.

Thanks for the welcome! I guess I'm just old school, but we are losing so many essential skills that (I believe) are disappearing. I love the feel of the road that comes with driving a stick. Just no fun driving an automatic. Got my license driving a "three on the column" way back in '64 and have always appreciated the skill required. Looking forward to driving this Hyundai and hope they keep the heritage alive even if it's not in an SUV.

I totally agree; without a stick, you aren't really driving, you are just steering.

Also, with a tiny engine like the one in the Venue, you really need to have control of the gearbox if you want to get any performance out of it at all!
