My Infotainment screen has gone completely blank twice since I bought my 2021 Venue Essentials. When it happens the bluetooth still automatically connects and it will play music, but the screen is completely blank, it's not even backlit. The backup camera doesn't appear on the screen either which is REALLY irritating. The only way to resolve it both times was to shut the vehicle off, then turn back on (reboot). The dashboard is not affected at all, all lights still work on the dash, I'm just talking about the infotainment screen.
I Googled this, and I found the same issue is happening to Hyundai Santa Fe owners as well. Some of them say that it only happened a couple times and never happened again, others were able to get the entire head unit replaced under warranty. They recommend getting the fault on video and send it to the dealer (I never thought of that). So next time it happens, I will capture it on video and bring it in.

I was watching a venue review.
I believe the reviewer said the infotainment has a safety mechanism, where it shuts off the screen when the power/volume button is pressed too hard, (or broken).

I have had the same issue in our 2020 Venue. It has never gone blank on me after it has been visible. But there have been a handful of times it has been blank when I start the car. It plays music and the screen is still responsive to touch and will change the station etc, if I touch the screen (randomly poking at where buttons might be). The only way I have found to get it to not be blank when this happens is to restart the vehicle. I got a video of it happening the other day and plan on taking it in to the dealer soon.

I also am experiencing info screen problems. Rear camera not stopping, screen going blank and coming back on. It started with the first map update. I reloaded maps but still is screwed up. Happen again today 7-11-2021. Anyone able to cure this or have had it fixed at the dealer?

I have had my 2022 Hyundai venue for two days and the Apple CarPlay screen is black and never used. If using maps I can get audio props but the screen is black. I can use Bluetooth to make phone calls but the screen is black except to say unknown caller. ** my biggest concern is that despite having a two day old vehicle capital Hyundai in Greensboro that sold me the vehicle says they cannot look at my vehicle until December 31 (three weeks from now)
Apparently they are only in the business of selling cars and don’t care about the customer after the sale😳😡🤬

I have the same problem. The service department said they can’t do anything about it. Little frustrating.

hi, also from Australia here. Had the same issues and reverse camera getting stuck on screen. Just got car back from service at dealer after trying to get it fixed. They couldn’t see a problem but I showed the mechanic multiple videos of it happening and they are ordering me a new entertainment unit and replacing it for free under warranty!! Hope this helps

If firmware is available for your car/country it will be listed on this website, under notifications. Make sure the country and firmware are correct for your unit or you could have problems.

Normally, when you visit the site you are redirected to your country, if not use the pull down at the top to make the correct selection. However you should always double check that ountry and firmware are correct for your car.

Hyundai Australia Maughan Thiem Hyundai
A little "rant' for the listener.
Purchased a Hyundai Venue Elite JAN 2021.
All good until an issue with the power steering being disabled with various safety features DEC 2021.
Dealership Maughan Thiem Hyundai did a power steering recall and sat' nav' update when in for 1 yr service Dec 2021.
Soon after an issue developed with the "head unit".
Reverse camera would stay on even when driving forward and sometimes just a "blank black screen".
Wife put up with it for a while until its frequency increased.
Dealership, Maughan Thiem Hyundai verified the issue on July 6 2022, and said would be in contact when new "head unit" arrived.
No contact for over 3 months, and since contacted dealership via email once and via phone on 5 occasions with no call back received.
Eventually dealership called and provided a timeline on when they would update me which they didn't adhere to.
Raised the issue with Hyundai Australia and they failed to respond in their 5 business day timeframe their website commits to.
Spoke with Hyundai Australia, who contacted the dealership and the response was "NO ETA ON NEW HEAD UNIT"!
Nearly a year with a malfunctioning head unit on a "top of the range" Hyundai Venue Elite, and nearly 5 months since dealership was suppose to order a new unit.
Have bought 6 new cars so far, 2 Hyundai's, and I am just "bloody annoyed" by the lack of customer service in this instance.
Maybe, consumer affairs next stop!
