Hyundai has published an update for the Display Audio system (cars without navigation).

I haven't installed it yet, so no idea what noticeable changes there, if any.

Ok, did the update. The info says it's for 2021 and 2022.
Took about 15 minutes. Goes through 5 steps. I left the car running, I was afraid the system would get shut off during the update and there is a warning not to remove media or turn off.
My Android phones would not connect by wireless after the update. Connected via USB, after Android Auto came up, I shut off the car, opened to door to shut off the radio, unplugged the USB. When I turned the car back on my phone connected by wireless again. Repeated for my other phone.
Haven't really noticed any difference, except maybe some fonts are different. If I notice anything new, if I do, I'll report back.

Update file says USA but worked for Canada. Not sure about other locales.
Quick steps:
Download update file. Bottom of list on this page... HYUNDAI NAVIGATION MAP UPDATE > Notifications
Copy the zip inside the update file to freshly FAT32 formatted media (They say larger than 4GB even thought the update file is 1GB). Safely remove media.
Plug media into car USB port.
Start the car.
Tap Setup.
Tap General.
Tap Update.
Follow the prompts.
Pray...lol.

Engineering mode password is no longer 2400. I tried a few of the other common ones, but couldn't find anything that worked.

Not sure if it's new or maybe I just didn't notice before that maps in Android Auto has a satellite view option. I like it.

That's just a new Google Maps feature, I see it on iOS too

I used the option in maps on my phone before, just didn't see the option in the car on Android Auto before.
My phone (Android) connect far better than it used to after the update was applied. I get in and by the time I confirm the popup it's already connected and ready

I just checked it, download link works.
This update is for US models, right?
As far as I know, the update is for USA and Canada.

I use the updater app on my PC to make sure I download the correct update for my model and it says “Download for this vehicle is not yet available”. If you download from a link, you may be downloading for another model so you are in danger of applying the wrong update for your vehicle. Be careful with links - it could be a phishing/malicious link.

I could be wrong but I believe you are using the navigation updater, unless you have the navigation option in your Venue you will never find an update.
The link I used is for Display Audio GEN2V, it worked correctly and updated to the proper version. The instructions were sent in an email from Hyundai.

Below is email from Hyundai (the update improved Android connectivity too)....
We've received reports regarding a possible loss of connection while using the wireless 1Apple CarPlay™ feature. According to our records, you may be receiving this warning: “Phone Not Responding. Please reconnect and try again”.

In an effort to rectify this, Hyundai has released a software update (April 28, 2022) in conjunction with Apple's iOS 15.

This software update and instructions are available on our software update page Official Hyundai Motors Navigation Update Website under “Notifications”. In order to complete this software update, you will need an empty USB with a minimum 4 GB storage, a desktop or laptop computer and internet connection.

If you have any questions regarding the Apple CarPlay™ software update, please contact Hyundai Auto Canada.

Sincerely,

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp.

Yes! I stand corrected. I don’t have Nav System in my 2022 SEL. So I logged in to my account at Hyundai and I was able to download the ZIP file update package. I’m going to install it when I get back from vacation. Thanks for your input.

I couldn't wait 'til I'm back from vacation. I updated my 2022 SEL (USA - no Navigation). It took a little over 15 minutes (maybe 16). It removed all data! I have to re-pair my (and my wife's) phones. It probably erased all my presets! Oh well.

Didn't erase anything when I did mine but I had to connect phones by USB first time to get them to do wireless Android Auto. I ended up erasing and re-pairing both phones and they connect better than ever. No presets were lost. The safety popup goes away without confirming, with or without a phone connected. My phone connects on it's own now.

We have IOS devices. As soon as I paired my iPhone, it recognized the Carplay capability and was able to wirelessly project my phone to the display. Not a big deal to re-pair our phones.
