The best way to do it is to remove the emblems and lettering so you can properly paint them.

You can paint them by masking the area on the car, but you are more prone to mispainting it.

I did mine right on the Venue. I did black. Just tape off the area around the logos and paper as well for the back one I taped and sprayed then pealed any excess. use a tooth pick to lift the film you want to remove. I also did the wheel caps as well... Just do light coats then a final good coat. I think I did 5 coats. Its been almost a year and it held up perfect.
I'll try to get some photos up.
Are the letters glued on? i want to remove them completely
They put adhesive tape.

Heat up then floss it out.

thnx for confirming.
any reason I shouldn't? like paint color difference from being covered? car is only 2 years old though so hopefully it will be fine
Based on the video of spraying a plasti-dip product with the emblems in place, I think I'd try that method before removing them. Save yourself the potential for damage and the cost of 3M double sided tape. Plus, you don't have to worry about lining up the letters again.

I didn't intend to put them back on at all, I'm not convinced they'd plastidip as nicely as those subaru letters due to the way the indent to a color change 🤔
