Tint, Blacked Out Emblems & Rear Detail on Denim

I decided to black out the emblems for a more custom look. Went dark on the tint. Also decided I liked the rear lower white bar on the Denim to be black instead for a more slender posterior. Plasti Dip is great stuff. Peels right off when you're done, but stays put for years. I recommend.

Looks cool. I have the SEL version so it has the chrome grille. I kinda wish it had the black SE grille. If it did have the black grille, I'd black out everything that's chrome or white. Also, I'd black out the SEL alloys. Then I would put a cool "Back in Black" emblem on the rear. My car's Intense Blue, so that blue with the black would rock.

I do have the black SE grill. I think it's kinda cool. Sort of a Darth Vader look!

Hello Cornelieaz,,I’m going to blackout the H emblem on my venue my question is, how did you set yours up with masking? did the plasti dip stick to the base behind the H or did you just peel that off and how did it not affect the H Thanks, Glenn

I forgot to mention that I’m talking about the front grill

 trade you grilles anytime, only way to get it in CAN is on the ultimate trim, i have the denim/trend (black instead of blue)

I don't recommend blacking out the stock alloys, it looks bad. The brushed steel is really what is making them have any aesthetic. Pretty much turns them into black version of the stock non alloy 15's

Yes the front grill. How did you mask the H badge on the front grill?? How did you prevent the plasti dip from sticking to the grill around the chrome circle of the Hyundai badge?

I masked off the grill so that the only thing showing was the oval emblem. Paper painters tape tucks nicely right up under the rim of the oval. I used plastic to cover the grill and front of the hood. I shot the oval with 5 coats of Plasti. It’s a wonderful product. I peeled the plasti off the black plastic portions of the oval (non-H sections), but could have just as easily left it on. Matte black plasti vs matte black plastic…6 and half a dozen I suppose. Pro tip: don’t cake the plasti dip on there so thick that it fills the gaps between pieces. That gap is why the plasti will peel away right on that line. Applied it 2 years/15k miles ago. Looks as pretty as the day I did it.
