Use a USB cable, it works flawlessly that way. I suspect WiFI interference from external sources is causing the signal loss. In any event I can make it work with the USB cable connected.

unfortunately it's wireless only for iphone (But it's wired and wireless for Android). I asked Hyundai to make it wired, and they said they don't have the right software for that. I left my car for 2 weeks at Hyundai shop and nothing! they bare worthless. I don't know what to do anymore :(

Hello, everyone. So I bought a 2021 Venue SE.

Since the day I bought it. It only comes with wireless Apple CarPlay, and the wireless Apple CarPlay often disconnect saying the phone is not responding, I have to click the screen repeatedly to get the CarPlay back. Which is a safety issue.

Then I asked the dealership, they said I am the only customer with this complaint, so there isn’t anything they can do and told me to wait for system updates that might be able to fix it.

Does anyone have the same issue I am having? Or does anyone have any suggestions to help me solve this issue?
You are not the "only one" i have the same, and i've been told everyone have it. They try to fix it for 2 week. still not working. they'll BS you all over. Never buy the car again!!!!!
So I think I found a solution when I had to re-pair my iPhone to the headunit. During the setup process, when it asks if you want to sync contacts/calls, hit DECLINE. It's pairing it with the software from the headunit and its not part of Apple Carplay itself, causing the phone to not connect properly and dropped connections. I haven't had any disconnection issue since (over a month now).

Totally agree with you regarding the "BS" part! It's amazing how everyone from their corporate office to the local dealers are well trained in this BS.

Anyone try my solution yet to see if it fixes anything? It's been nearly a month now without disconnection issues here.

I have the same problem with Santa Fe 2021 - continuously disconnecting wireless carplay for 8inch media sistem. I switched wireless carplay to wired mode in engineering menu(change in ?CPU variant? from CPU0 to CPU1). profit.

There was a new August 2021 update released for the headunit that claims to fix stability issues on iOS14. Check the thread I linked, and scroll down a few posts.

How do you know what the different CPU variants do? I have seen that screen in the engineering mode, but I've never seen an explanation of what each one means.

My Android Car Play kinda sucks -- cuts out a lot. But I can't entirely blame it on the Venue -- I have a second-tier wireless plan.

I am thinking it might be better for infotainment systems if you could just plug a phone or tablet of your choice into an audio input and then mount the phone/tablet onto your dash with a built-in mount. Then it'd cut out the Android/Apple Car Play middleman.

You could use Android, iOS, Windows, Amazon Fire, heck even Linux as long as all these devices have a cellular capability built-in.

I read many forums in which they experimentally established which CPU option to choose for different tasks. on the second try I did it. my instruction works for santa fe. differences are possible for another car(KIA/Hyndai).
